FROM THE INK WELL | | I first used the internet as a way to keep in touch with people back home on some whirlwind tours of Europe I did at the end of the nineties.
I guess I really started to write and edit when about seven years ago when I lived in Ireland. I was living and working there, soaking up the local culture and lifestyle with every ounce of strength my liver could support. On a self imposed hiatus from the solitary act of painting, I found writing to be a great outlet for letting all my thoughts and actions come out in a fruitful manner. |

| TALES OF THE REALLY WHITE VIGILANTE November, 2007 - After spending nine months writing, researching, drawing, inking and putting everything together in the computer, my first foray into a new medium emerged: a 62 page comic book detailing the exploits of the Really White Vigilante. A young white kid dons a Mexican wrestling mask and tries to put an
end to the gentrification of East Austin. I got more than I bargained for with this book, as it turned autobiographical, yet kept its heart and farcical nature true and affixed to its sleeve. |
| In January of 2003, I acquired the Schliefkevision domain name. I quickly stamped out a poorly designed site filled with ridiculous humor, incendiary thought bubbles, and prodding sarcasm. It wasn't
for a few months before the first images of my paintings arrived on my site.
In the four years this site has been around, I've written countless stories about my life, my paintings, my frustrations, hopes and aspirations. I'd like to believe if all the stories were read from the beginning to the latest, you'd see an evolution of thought and get an honest sense of what its like being an artist in today's world.
I'll be changing this page up and the format of the archives, but for now, you'll have to sift through all the stories for yourself, or use the search option down below.
