NORTH(EAST)ERN EXPOSURE | scroll on down to catch all the stories from my time up north. | February, 2008 - It was a long time coming, but feeling a high degree of burnout that was keeping me from painting
regularly and coming off the euphoria of being able to pull off writing, drawing, and printing my comic book, I was ready for a break.
Friends raised their eyebrows as my plan made its rounds through the circles of my friends. 'He's not coming back.' 'He hates us'. But as all sabbaticals go, this one was much needed, as I hunkered down in the snowy confines of the Northeast, turned my brain off for a couple of months, and let my nerves relax a bit. |
Now the trip wasn't without its anxiety, it all started when I realized just how much packing I was going to have to do. After living and working at Bolm Studios for over three years, I accumulated a
fair amount of stuff, let alone paintings, and found the job of boxing my possessions just days before Christmas and my departure date a mind numbing and daunting task. I sucked it up and got it done, and soon I was flying over the Atlantic Ocean looking at frosty whitecaps as the plane began its descent into Providence, Rhode Island... |
