Random Shots in Dallas
Art in Fort Worth
After wrapping up a long day putting together and taking down the big event, everyone slept in a bit, and the crew exited stage right - back to Colorado, Nebraska and Austin.  Before heading home, Laura and I swam in the pool with Gene, and the three of us made a spirited drive through Dallas.  Of course, the only place I could think of wanting to see was the spot where JFK was shot, so we circumnavigated downtown and drove right through the very spot.  We doubled back and Gene and I went into the museum's gift shop.  I was disappointed they didn't have any JFK shot glasses, and inadvertently ran across a plan that will keep me busy through the end of year.

We drove through the surprisingly dilapidated Deep Ellum, Dallas's rough and ready club and bar district, snaked through downtown and ended up eating a final greasy lunch together at Cactus Jack's.  Laura and I dropped Gene off at the hotel, and we headed west, into the sunset and towards Fort Worth for one more night in the megaplex.
