May 9, 2005 - The city of Detroit must have heard about AUSThIN's drive for a healthier community - as the mayor has proposed a two percent sales tax increase on fast food restaurants.

May 7, 2005 - Onward Austin's smoking ban ordinance faced the voters today and passed by a whopping margin of 2,420 votes!  That means healthy Austinites can now pollute their livers in bars without worrying about the ill affects of second hand smoke at the same time.

May 1, 2005 - The AUSThIN website goes live as the process of making Austin healthier through smoking and obesity bans will benefit us all.
